What Would Be Easier if You Had More Energy? A Look into Hydration
I want to pose this question to you again.
What would b easier if you had more energy?
Playing with your kids? getting your workout in? work? Having fun and living life?
Probably all of the above and then some.
In my last post I discussed the importance of exercise and movement when it comes to increasing your overall daily energy.
You can check that post out here!
That is just one piece of the puzzle. The next piece I want to talk about is hydration. There is a lot to break down when it comes to hydration and drinking water— but I have broken it down into some bare minimum simple information for you. I will share some simple tips on how to “get excited to drink more water” later on in the post as well!
But first. Science.
If you want to increase your energy through the course of better hydration here are some things you should know.
Water helps:
Improve Oxygen & Nutrient Delivery— But what does that mean?
Water helps move oxygen and nutrients through your bloodstream to your muscles and brain.
When your body gets what it needs, you feel more energized and alert
Prevent Fatigue & Brain Fog
Even slight dehydration can make you feel tired and unfocused.
Drinking enough water keeps your mind sharp and your body feeling refreshed.
Regulate Body Temperature & Digestion
Water helps cool your body down, preventing overheating and exhaustion.
It also supports digestion, so your body absorbs nutrients properly to fuel your energy.
Now because I believe firmly that knowledge is great but when it comes to our fitness journey it doesn’t really mean anything if you don’t have some action steps to go with it. So here are 5 different ways that we can make hydrating both easier and maybe even more exciting. If you are struggling to drink your water— and you know being more hydrated could help your energy I encourage you to try one or more of these out!
Use a Fun Water Bottle – Find a bottle you love with time markers or a straw to make sipping throughout the day more enjoyable.
Set Hydration Goals – Use an app, reminders, or a simple sticky note to track your intake and stay consistent.
Drink Herbal Teas or Sparkling Water – Swap plain water for caffeine-free herbal teas or flavored sparkling water for variety.
Pair Water with Daily Habits – Drink a glass when you wake up, before meals, or after bathroom breaks to make hydration a natural part of your routine.
Infuse Your Water – Add fresh fruit, herbs, or cucumber to give your water a refreshing flavor without added sugars.
Life gets busy— and I know for me water and hydrating is almost always the first thing that gets put on the back burner— and it is also one of the first things to help boost my energy!
I hope this helps you take a step towards bettering your health and enjoying your days even more then you already do!
Cheers to more energy!
