Intentional & Mindful Movement
Increased mindfulness:
Slowing down allows you to be more present and aware of your surroundings, thoughts, and emotions. It enhances your ability to engage fully in each moment and helps cultivate a sense of mindfulness. This can reduce stress, improve mental clarity, and promote overall emotional well-being.-- Which then can lead to real long lasting change in your relationship & progress with movement and nutrition.
So just think about that for a moment.
If you can be yourself 20-30 minutes each day that really is focused in on your needs– it’s going to help you slow down the rest of your day. You’re going to be more present with your family, at work, leisure time, with your friends.. Etc.
Then on top of that– you get to be less stressed, more energized – and like more joyful each day.
That seems like a pretty good deal for me.
~ One thing that can help you be more intentional is to maybe cut out the noise and technology first thing in the morning– if that is something you need– but you still want a program to follow that is simple and makes sense then check out my PFF bundles.
~Another thing that can help us be more intentional with our movement is to have a plan and know what it is you’re doing. I’m not saying you need to know the ins and out and get a certification– but have a plan to follow, that makes sense to you, and can help you not be stressed out on what you’re doing next. Let go and free up some of that brain space!
~ A final thing to think about is to go in with the mindset of how awesome it is to move your body. Don’t think about how many calories you might burn, how you can “reward” yourself later, or even with the notion that you’re punishing your body. Just get rid of all of that. Go into your movement with the intention of loving, respecting, and perhaps challenging yourself to be the best version of you!
I want to point out that being intentional with our workouts and fitness plan doesn’t mean that everything is going to go smoothly or there won’t be interruptions or you’re going to find yourself having that perfect morning all the time. I don’t want to set you up for failure in that respect. It simply means that you are all in with what you’re doing.
If you’re doing it with some music going in your garage and you get that time to yourself… great!
If you’re cranking out that workout while baby wearing– that’s awesome. Enjoy that moment.
If you’re toddler is trying to do the moves alongside you– then be all in with the fact that your child is seeing you do something amazing.
I truly think that being intentional and being in the moment is sometimes lost in our world today. If you feel liek you need to be more connected with yourself, your time, your family, and the life you’re living– this could be a good place to start!
