A Look into some Weekly Meals and meal prep

HEYO!

On the post I have a full video of me prepping some meals and grocery shopping. I am a pretty visual person— So I like to see the things happening, but I wanted to expand on what you’re seeing in that short little clip and link all the recipes that I used!

A little insight into the week— My husband loves to hunt so our freezer almost always has some sort of game meat in it (Venison— Deer, Duck, Jack Rabbit, Turkey, etc…) so I find it fun to share what we do with some of it even though thats not the norm for everyone. Almost anything we make with that can be swapped out for some other kind of meat like beef, chicken and what not.

Sometimes when we have the time during the week and the work schedule is a little lighter we like to try some fun and different things— which is where the Live Pate comes in here. That’s definitely not a normal thing on rotation. Nevertheless— it is what we made during this week and I am happy to share the recipe.

let’s dig into it!

Dinner 1:

Chicken Meat Balls—

I actually found this recipe off of a post from someone on Instagram— and it was a hit with the family. I had two separate flavors that I made. One was a buffalo flavor and the other garlic parm. I had a bunch of different dipping sauces as well! Shout out to the “Kinders chicken sauce”— It is delicious. On the side of this I quickly stir fried some caulifower and onions with some basic seasons (Garlic, Pepper, and Salt). And I was able to get some Sourdough Biscuits in the oven for this meal as well!

Dinner 2:

Venison Liver Pate—

My husband was the chef on this one. The first thing we did was take the Liver out of the freezer and let is soak in water over night and into the next day- We changed the water about 2 times and gave the liver a good rinse each time. Now I did not think this was going to be something that I would like— but safe to say I would eat this again. The recipes makes a lot so just be prepared for that. It was even better the next day as it was able to sit in the fridge longer and get cold. The key here I think is also the sweetness of jam that we ate with it.

So it was grilled sourdough Bread with strawberry Jame and then the liver pate on top.

Dinner 3:

Mississippi Pot Roast—

This is also a crowd favorite and is super simple to make. For us we used a Venison roast— but you can easily swap it for another roast. We have done it with Beef as well— and it is just as good! This a great meal to have cooking all day in your house for when you have a busy day. I love a good crock pot meal. It is definitly a go to for me!

Breakfast: Egg Bake

The final meal that I wanted to share is an easy Egg Bake for the mornings. The egg bake definitely goes fast but is great to make ahead or easy to put together morning of and have to grab and eat for a couple of days! Now the exact recipe that I use is from my dad and is sitting hand written on a recipe card in my kitchen. There are a lot of different recipes for egg bake out there—

I found a few different ones that are similar to the one that my dad uses and gave to me.

I hope that this inspires you to build some meals of your own that are eithr on the more simple side— or might have you trying something new and getting you out of your comfort zone!
